Well, the results are in and if you haven’t already heard, Pantone named Tangerine Tangoas the 2012 color of the year. From what I know, a lot of research goes into picking the color of the year. The team at Pantone looks at what colors are being used in advertising, clothing, interiors, cosmetics etc. They make predictions based off of previous trends and in naming this the color of the year they are predicting we will see this reddish orange color pop up in clothing lines as well as home decor.
I think Tangerine Tango is a very fun color that can add warmth and spunk to any room in your home. However, it is important to note that it is best used in moderation. A room with all walls painted in Tangerine Tango could quickly become overwhelming, but a few well placedaccessories or accent pillows or even one accent wall would give a room that pop you are looking for.
